Drawing the son/ amateur portrait artistry

I have not drawn people in a very long time. In fact, not since I was drawing Michael Jackson at age 11... I have done cartoons and fantasy portraits but no actual people illustrations...
And so I am just practicing and going with the flow on this one...
There are a lot of errors but thats ok.

This is the first progress picture:

And this is the second.

This is the third:

It hasn't taken long, but with two little kids I have very little time to sit and draw: the weekends (fri-sun) are family time, and the weekdays are like most other moms: me and the kiddoes (one or both) so yeah... All together this is about 2 hours work spaced out over 2 weeks maybe 3 (so far haha ;)

And we proceed...

The neighborhood park

Hi!
Dont you think that great play parks within quite a close distance is important? I do! And the one we had the closest was a tragedy!
But they now did it up and so we have a brand new playpark in our neighborhood!
Its been a long time coming after the terrible ground we've had there for years!
Beautiful area and no kids playing there.
(Because playing there equals a huge batch of laundry for the mommas! ~ I can almost hear the mommas go "...but dont you go to the playpark! Im not doing laundry today!")

But now its all good! New equipment and that clean soft padded ground..
In Norway (where Im from. Oslo, more specifically) most kids park equipment is made of wood and tyres, and thats awesome! And there is no padded playareas neither...
I dont know if i think its necessary with the paddedness but I do know I prefer the padded ground to the bark parks!
so I dressed the kids up and went there!
They had fun together. Lil C showing the baby sis how the park works! Makes my momma heart sings when the kids play together! Little miss was crawling everywhere and lil C was running here and there and everywhere.

Then a puppy came and that was the last I saw of the boy till it was time to go home for a nap. He got to hold the leash and everything! That's pure happiness :)
We are thinking about getting a dog, but a dog also complicates life a bit: Ive always had them and really miss the waggy tails and sniffling snouts! But I dont want a backyard dog: and right now I just dont have the time or energy to walk a dog so we dont have one at the moment. But Lil C might have to get one eventually...
He is so good with them <3
What do you think about pets and families? Are animals a must for kids? I tend to think they are....

Wishing you who pop by here, a wonderful day

Peeking through the keyhole!

Hi!
i just wanted to make a blog with all the other stuff I do, and figure, I might introduce myself a bit at the same time.
My name is Karianne.
Im the mamma of two fun and fab little people.
Im a former art student, who wanted to be a humanitarian, who should have studied law or languages, but who is a stay at home-artsy momma.
Thats me: the mom who makes those crazy lunches. Who draws and paints. Who make her own tees into tees for the kiddo. Who wants to knit and then does it while watching youtube videos,..
Who's BIGGEST passion is my kids and EVERYTHING about them:
And who love kids fashion dearly!
(Im getting a sewing machine for my birthday woop woop!)

...So this will be a momma blog. Yes. Another one of those...

If your here, my guess is that you followed the trail from www.barebarnematen.blogspot.com
But if not, please tell me how you found my blog in the comment section, as Id really love to know.

Other than that: I cant wait to get to know you so I hope you will leave your mark through comments :)

Lots of love
Karianne
